MUNCIE, INDIANA — The National Association of Landscape Professionals, a group representing an industry of approximately one million landscape, lawn care, irrigation, and tree care professionals, recently awarded Jay-Crew of Muncie/Indianapolis, Indiana its Overall Safety Achievement Award.
The award, part of NALP’s annual Safety Recognition Awards Program, honors companies with thorough, high-performing safety programs that create and maintain safe work environments.
The award, part of NALP’s annual Safety Recognition Awards Program, honors companies with thorough, high-performing safety programs that create and maintain safe work environments.
“Safe work environments show our employees and clients that we care,” said Jason Brooks, President of Jay-Crew. “We pride ourselves in accurately representing our core value of safety.”
Jay-Crew was evaluated on the number of days that employees were on the job safely, the number of days away from work, the number of accidents, the number of employee injuries and illnesses. In addition, a checklist was used to rate the company’s complete safety program.
“This company was founded with the belief that we will invest in our team and employees to work in the safest manner as possible and hold every employee accountable,” said Brooks. “This recognition of our good safety record is a direct result of the hard work and efforts that our entire team has put into making Jay-Crew a safe place to work.”
Jay-Crew was founded in 1996 with a group of college friends, two mowers, some rented garage space, and a strong desire to take care of their clients. Over the years, the business has expanded from their Muncie location to now include two additional branches in Indianapolis, one on the west side and one on the east side. In 2014, they shifted from servicing both residential and commercial clients to now focusing our efforts exclusively to commercial based customers.
Although the company has grown and seen many changes, Brooks credits its dedication to outstanding client service, beginning with safety, as its foundation.
