We Are Looking For:

Relationship Manager

The Relationship Manager must be able to manage existing commercial maintenance clients and be able to generate new maintenance customers as well.  They must be driven to meet sales goals by renewing current clients and selling enhancement projects to our current customer base and they must be comfortable networking and generating new business. Knowledge of plants and previous horticulture experience is a must.


OBJECTIVES

1. Client Service
In business for nearly two decades, we have loyal clients who we service and renew annually. Each Relationship Manager is assigned a current client list to service and develop. Client retention rate is a key factor in succeeding in this role. Strong communication and relationship development skills are a must.

2. Business Development
Each Relationship Manager has business development goals to reach through the attraction of new clients and delivery of enhanced services to current clients. While each Relationship Manager will be supported by corporate marketing efforts, it is the responsibility of the individual to prospect, network, and close new accounts.

3. Project Management
The Reltionship Manager is the point person for each of their client relationships. They are responsible for communicating with other members of the Jay-Crew team including office personnel and Project Superintendents to ensure the clients expectations are met on each and every project.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • Required – Associate’s Degree or greater from an accredited college or university
  • Preferred – Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Required – Prior experience in outside sales and service
  • Preferred – Prior experience in commercial and/or residential landscaping


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS NEEDED

  • Plant knowledge and previous horticulture experience preferred
  • Landscape design experience not necessary but helpful
  • Must be comfortable networking and generating new business
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to support multiple work assignments simultaneously
  • Strong computer application skills needed
  • Must take initiative and formulate a course of action to accomplish goals
  • Must be adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people

Asset Maintenance Assistant

The Asset Maintenance Assistant will assist with the repair and maintenance of all equipment, as well as the facility.  This person must assist with maintaining a clean facility and yard area, oversee the inventory of materials and supplies, and be willing to assist other personnel as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a clean and organized shop/yard at all times
Clean trucks and equipment daily
Fuel trucks and equipment daily
Sharpen and change mower blades daily
Perform routine repairs and maintenance of trucks, equipment, and facility
Maintain a safe working environment with the assistance of the company’s Asset Manager
Assure building and lot are clean and secure at the end of each day
Perform all other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Active Drivers License with a clean driving record
Knowledge of small tools

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS NEEDED
Must be able to communicate clearly with a wide range of people, including vendors and crews
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize and plan work to maximize efficiency
Must be able to follow through on routine maintenance
Accurate and timely completion of paperwork

Foreman / Supervisor

The Foreman / Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of year round landscape maintenance, new commercial landscape installation, snow & ice management, and equipment operation in connection with commercial projects for our clients in and around our Muncie and Indianapolis locations. Foreman/Supervisors direct crews to ensure a high-level of service to customers, maintains budgets for time and materials, oversees the use of equipment and materials, and assists personnel as needed. They must also have a strong work ethic, enjoy working outside, and have the ability to lead teams.

OBJECTIVES
1. Project Management
The Foreman / Supervisor is critical to maintaining an efficient workforce and in turn, excellent client relationships. They are responsible for communicating with other members of the Jay-Crew team, including Crew Members and office personnel, to ensure the client’s expectations are met on each and every project.

2. Client Service

Able to identify problems and resolve them in a timely and appropriate manner
Must have good time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and demands
Must be able to prioritize and plan work to maximize efficiency
Follow-through on pending items to ensure timely completion
Complete paperwork accurately and timely
Must be adaptable and flexible in dealing with a wide variety of people
Must be able to read and write

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain loading time in the morning to ensure timely departure from the shop
Ensure all necessary paperwork, equipment and materials needed to perform the current job are loaded prior to leaving the shop
Motivate and ensure an efficient workforce to meet or beat budgets for time and materials.
Responsible for quality control to ensure a high-level of service to the client
Maintain a safe working environment for all crew members, clients, and the general public
Responsible for training of Crew Members
Ensure safe and efficient operation of all equipment
Develop and recommend improved work methods and standards
Responsible for timely and accurate paperwork completion and submission
Ensure all tools, equipment and trash is removed from trucks at the end of each day
Responsible for reporting defects with trucks/equipment to Shop Manager
Responsible for reporting to Operations Manager any complaints from clients, citizens or Crew Members
Perform all other duties as assigned

Responsible for overseeing Crew Members

Typical work week requires 40-50 hours. Position requires additional hours when necessary to complete special projects or to respond to client requests. This role includes traveling within a prescribed market area and includes work outside.

Crew Member

Crew Members are the heart and soul of our commercial maintenance business. They are responsible for all aspects of year round landscape maintenance, new commercial landscape installation, snow & ice management, and equipment operation in connection with commercial projects for our clients in and around our Muncie and Indianapolis locations.  Crew Members must have a strong work ethic, enjoy working outside, and have the ability to work independently and in teams.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Minimum of one year’s experience in landscaping
No formal education required

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS NEEDED
Must be able to communicate with supervisor
Must be able to operate equipment safely and efficiently
Must be adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people

Property & Service Superintendent

The Property & Service Superintendent works directly with Jay-Crew clients to ensure their commercial property always look their best. They direct and coordinate scheduled requirements of workers (foremen and crews), establish quality control measures, ensure a high-level of service to customer relations, meet budget standards, oversee use of equipment and materials, and assist personnel in carrying out their responsibilities as needed.

The individual in this role should be able to manage multiple tasks and demands, as well as prioritize and plan work in a way that maximizes efficiency. Follow-through on pending items will be critical to ensure timely completion of jobs.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Required – High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred – 2 or 4 year Landscape related degree; or equivalent industry experience with or without a college degree
Required – Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on field experience, with one of those years providing supervisory experience.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS NEEDED
Strong communication skills
Must be able to drive
Must be able to walk and stand for an extended period
Accurate and timely completion of paperwork

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Crew Foremen and Crew Members

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for hiring, training, monitoring, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating any employees under their supervision as is appropriate
Creates and motivates an efficient workforce to meet deadlines as assigned through contract deliverables
Maintains costs within assigned budgets
Maintains a safe working environment with the assistance of the company’s Safety Manager, as well as conducting regular safety training
Assist Foremen in carrying out duties as needed
Provides technical information for inquiring customers, potential customers and field personnel, as well as coordinate efforts with the Relationship Managers to take advantage of upsell opportunities
Performs regular worksite inspections to ensure standards of quality
Develop and recommend improved work methods and standards
Responsible for payroll documentation, production posting, material purchasing and inventory control
Responsible for asset inventory control and ensuring proper care of company vehicles and equipment
Performs all other duties as assigned

Maintain a safe working environment with the assistance of the company’s safety manager
Conduct regular safety training and assist foremen in carrying out duties as needed

2. Project Management
Material purchasing and inventory control
Maintain costs within assigned budgets
Asset inventory control including proper care of company vehicles and equipment
Perform regular work site inspections to ensure standards of quality
Develop and recommend improved work methods and standards

3. Client Service
Provide technical information for inquiring customers, potential customers, and field personnel
Identify upsell opportunities at assigned properties in conjunction with Relationship Manager

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Required – High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred – Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Related Field
Preferred – Prior experience in commercial and/or residential landscaping
Required – 2 years of hands-on field experience with 1 of those years having supervisory experience

The key physical requirements of this position includes the ability to travel regularly by vehicle, walk and stand for an extended period of time, lift up to 40 pounds, use of standard office equipment including computers, work outside, and movement within a standard office.
